Weiner Won’t Resign Despite New Photos Released Online

On Sunday, a House Democrat joined the party that is fervently requesting Representative Anthony Weiner to resign from his public post following his “sexting” scandals. The New York representative responded to the request by submitting a temporary leave of absence.

The chairman of the Republican Party criticized the Democrats for not taking more solid and forceful actions regarding the matter. The Republican Chairman said that the incident has taken a good portion of the attention of the people of Capitol Hill side-stepping from more important matters.

Weiner has earlier admitted to the allegations acknowledging the fact that he indeed engaged in sexual and explicit activities with a couple of women online. The most recent gossips were revealed in a TV gossip show and website TMZ.

The photo that was posted on the TMZ website Sunday shows a half-naked Weiner with nothing on but a towel wrapped around his waist. He was also holding his crotch in the said photo. The photo, TMZ said, was sent to at least one woman.

Maryland Representative Steny Hoyer said that it will be extremely difficult for Weiner to effectively represent New York following his bizarre and highly unacceptable behaviour with young women.

In New York, Weiner’s supporters and enemies are up against each other. 61-year old New Yorker Jim Scott, one of the several people who protested in front of Weiner’s office said that he thinks Weiner is not fit to represent them anymore. He added that New Yorkers are sick of them and he should just resign.

On the other hand, 18-year old Olivia Lurrie said that Weiner is a great leader who just like many human beings, made a mistake.

Everyone is at the edge of their seats waiting for what’s next in the scandal Weiner got himself in to.

Cellphone Cancer Warning Did Not Have an Impact in the US

When the news that excessive cellphone use may cause brain cancer spread like wildfire across the globe, the United States public welcomed it without merely a shrug of the shoulder. The announcement, or rather the warning was given by the World Health Organization.

After the warning has been given, many vowed they will buy or use headsets to lessen the impact of radiation. More people, however, think that either the study is too vague or believe that cellphone use is inevitable and they are willing to take that risk.

31-year old New Yorker said that when she read about the warning she thought she could be in a lot of trouble as she has been using mobile phones since for more than seven years. John Gottani, a cellphone store manager, said that in his six years of selling cellphones, he has never heard anyone ask if cellphone use causes cancer. People are more concerned about the features and gadget specifications than whether or not the phone causes cancer.

More than a dozen published studies on cellphones and its relation to cancer were reviews by the International Agency for Research on Cancer before they classified it as “possibly carcinogenic”.  Other things in this category are engine exhaust, coffee, and night-shift work.

42-year old resident of San Francisco, Chuck Luter, said he does not intend to change his cellphone habits to follow the radiation warning. He said that there simply is no alternative to mobile phones and there are a lot of other things that can cause health hazards; he said he can let this one slide.
