Getting a gift for someone who is about to have everything in less than a week is a mind-wrecking job, but Kate Middleton’s family rose to the challenge and got her the perfect gift – a coat of arms. Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, custom-built a family crest to highlight their daughter’s royal wedding on the 29^th of April, barely a week from now.

Working hand-in-hand with an artist from the College of Arms, the Middletons fashioned a coat of arms shaped like a lozenge and is hanging from a blue ribbon; the ribbon signifies that Kate is still officially single. The three acorns in the coat of arms represent Kate and her other two siblings Pippa and James. On the other hand, the oak tree is a symbol of the place where the family lived and grew for 30 years – west Berkshire. Other details like the division on the middle of the crest is a lose representation of the family’s last name, Middle-ton. The gold chevron symbolizes “Goldsmith” which is Carole’s maiden name.

Thomas Woodcock, the artist who helped design the crest, said that although having a coat of arms is not compulsory, it might come in handy as she is marrying the Prince of Wales. Artists will remove the blue ribbon after the wedding and place Kate’s shield in the middle of her husband-to-be’s coat of arms, signifying that the two has become one.

Some aristocrats, however, rolled their eyes on the Middleton’s family crest; saying that the crest should have included balloons as the family started in the party supplies industry. Although the public has learned to accept that Prince William is marrying a commoner, some members of the British royalty have not.

The childhood home of legendary singer Johnny Cash is currently under renovation and will be turned in to a museum. The singer’s home is in Dyess, Arkansas.

The family home where Cash grew up as a child was bought by a State University and will be converted in to a museum in honor of the late legend. The money that will be raised durring The Johnny Cash Music Festival will be used solely to rebuild Cash’s childhood home.

The festival will be held on August 4 at the State University and will include performances from Cash’s family and friends. Rosanne, the singer’s eldest daughter, and his brother Tommy are only few of his loved ones whose shows are expected on the festival.

John Carter, the singer’s son, said that the dirt from his dad’s old home has made Cash’s spirits strong. Because of his community’s financial conditions as he was growing up, he learned the value of hard work at a very young age. His family and friends from his childhood inspired his music and made them authentic.

The legendary singer passed away back in 2003 due to complications from his long-standing diabetes. However, he was already diagnosed with Shy-Drager syndrome, a neurodegenerative disease, as early as 1997. His illness forced him to cut his tour short. Thereafter, his health dwindled down and he faced numerous hospitalizations until he died in his home in Nashville.

The locals of Dyess, Arkansas are excited about the museum and thinks that they now have their own version of Graceland (Elvis Presley’s home) in Tennessee.

24-year old Twilight star Robert Pattinson is everywhere the last couple of days to promote his latest project “Water for Elephants”. Yes, the young actor has gone a long way since the Twilight series and this recent romantic drama is another proof of his versatility as an actor. But no one can explore his bizarre territories like Ellen deGeneres does.

In Pattinson’s appearance in Ellen, they talked about practically everything – from Robert’s choice of underwear to the best days of his life.

The actor said that one of the happiest moments of his life came last fall wherein he belted karaoke songs like “I Belive I Can Fly” in a bar in Lubbock, Texas. Naturally, a mob gathered outside the bar to take a glimpse of the young actor but the police immediately locked down the place giving Pattinson and a good friend a chance to sing their hearts out for 4 long hours.

Another memorable time in his life happened while shooting for “Breaking Dawn.” Robert, who confessed he does not have a clue how to use a washing machine, ran out of underwear except for one – Ellen underwear. For some reason, his ass was constantly hanging out while they were doing this huge fight scene, the actor said. Every shot showed his “Ellen” underpants that the producers had to call his agent’s attention.

Pattinson can now laugh about what he called an awkward day on the set. To celebrate what he said is one of the happiest days of his life; Ellen deGeneres gave him a basket full of Ellen underwear so he will never run out again.

Gerard Smith, TV on the Radio bassist, died on Wednesday at the age of 34 due to lung cancer. His death was announced on the official website of the band.

The band said that they will terribly miss Smith and in line with this tragic event in the group, they will cancel five scheduled shows. The canceled shows are their appearance at Metro scheduled this Friday, their Detroit show on Wednesday, the one in Minneapolis on Saturday and Sunday, and the Denver show on Tuesday.

Metro announced on the same day that they will try to reschedule the TV on the Radio appearance. The fans can hold on to their tickets in case of a reschedule or submit it for a refund. Metro further said to keep posted for more information regarding the sold-out show.

It was only a month ago that Smith revealed he is battling with cancer and he has stopped touring with the band a couple of weeks ago. He was, however, diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after the completion of the band’s latest album, “Nine Types of Light.” Smith joined the band in 2008 and he contributed keyboards, guitars, and even some vocals in their “Dear Science” album.

“Nine Types of Light” is the band’s comeback album following their year-long hiatus after their tour for the “Dear Science” album. Nine types of light received a lot of good reviews since its release.

Bobby Davro, a known comedian, angered parents after he stimulated sex acts while in a giant kangaroo costume during a children’s show. Parents were in shock and were clearly upset after Davro made vulgar movements in front of kids as young as five.

Davro, 52, is also alleged of making jokes that can be interpreted as racist during his performance as the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz held in the Preston’s Charter Theatre. It is said that the actor repeatedly referred to Chinese people as individuals who eat dogs.

The production company and the bosses of the theater are now forced to make a public apology after all the complaints from the angry parents.

A 67-year old grandmother, Annabelle Fleming, said that she was furious and thought that Davro treated them as a pub audience. She brought her five-year old granddaughter to the show. Another parent in the audience also said that the actor even pulled up his leg and insisted that a lady from the audience kiss his leg.

Moreover, Mrs. Fleming, one of the mothers in the audience, said that she is not supposed to pay £52 just to see an actor make out with a kangaroo; especially not on a show intended for children.

In one of their statements, the Guild Hall and Chartered Theater apologized to everyone who was offended by their show. They also said that all the complaints will be dealt with in due course.

Davro’s spokesman said that the New World Productions’ goal is to produce family entertainment that will appeal to all ages. They are, however, sorry that their drive for excellence offended some people.

Charlie Sheen, now known for his beyond bizarre antics during his tour shows, capped his first stop in Canada by leading a toast for a dead man’s ashes. The ashes belong to the one of the audience members’ dead husband.

The show is called “The Violent Torpedo of Truth”, and an hour in to the show Sheen called out a woman from the audience whose husband died many years ago. He also said that he learned about her story from a newspaper article.

The audience went pitch quiet when Wendy Newman clothed in black from head to toe with an urn on one arm. Newman told everyone that her husband had a heart attack and the only thing that kept her going after her husband’s death is “Three and a Half Men” – Sheen’s former sitcom.

When Newman heard that Sheen is taking his show to Toronto, she immediately booked a flight and left a message on the actor’s facebook wall asking him if she can bring her husband’s ashes. She also asked that Sheen leads a toast to honor her husband.

Sheen gracefully agreed, led a toast with a non-alcoholic beverage – the actor vowed to shy away from drinking and drugs – and allowed the widow to say a short eulogy. Mrs. Newman ended her eulogy by saying she can finally properly send off her husband since Charlie Sheen is in their midst.

After the speech, the show abruptly ended; much to the dismay of the rest of the audience. Although it was moving, a 25-year old member of the audience could not help but say – “What the hell!”

Paul McDonald’s dreams of becoming a rock star has been cut short after America voted him out of the competition. He is the first male finalists who have been kicked out from the top 13.

The 25-year old rocker sand Maggie May for the last time on the Idol stage as requested by Jennifer Lopez. J-Lo, one of the most emotional judges in the history of the show, was close to tears while McDonald sang his final song.

After McDonald’s performance – his rendition of Old Time Rock and Roll – Wednesday, he landed on the bottom three spots with Stefano Langone and Haley Reinhart. Stefano was praised by the judges for pushing the envelope with his performance and they were all in shock when his was not sent back to the safety of the couch.

McDonald really put on a show Wednesday and Randy Jackson even said that he wanted to borrow his suite – a vibrant, sequenced red suite.  However, Steven Tyler was not very impressed and thought that his saxophonist out staged him.

One of the most successful Idol winners Kelly Clarkson also graced the show with her song “Don’t You Want to Stay?” She sang the song with Jason Aldean. Show host Ryan Seacrest took a beating from Clarkson after teasing her about her tweets saying that “Casey is delicious.”

Justin Bieber took over Tel Aviv grounds in Israel despite his involvement in political controversies and paparazzi intrusion, which spoiled his three-day vacation.

However, Bieber’s camp said the meeting was never finalized. Bieber’s spokesman said the plans to meet with the children and Israeli’s prime minister was unfortunately impossible in the end.

Yet, Bieber had invited children from the region to be his special guests on his show held on Thursday.

Bieber said in Twitter that he wanted to visit the country and see all the places that he had dreamed of. However, he said he is displeased to be pulled into politics along with the intrusion of paparazzi.

Still, thousands of young girls showed up in his concert despite the week-long controversies in his tour in Israel. Many of them waved signs around and begged their moms to buy posters or t-shirts of their heartthrob idol.

24 year-old actress Lindsay Lohan wants to redeem herself by returning to the big screen. She is hoping she can do it with the John Travolta film “Gotti: Three Generations.” On Tuesday, she told the crew during the project’s conference that she is already speaking with a couple of the producers and she might have a role in the film.

Lohan said that the project is an extremely fascinating one. She further said that the story of the Gotti’s and what the entire family has gone through for years is a great story for everyone to hear. Lindsay Lohan’s participation in the movie is not yet confirmed but Victoria Gotti, daughter of late John Gotti, is said to be grooming the young actress for the role.

Lindsay did not say if she’ll play the role of Victoria but she hinted on it…a lot! She said that she has never portrayed anyone she knew personally, so if she gets the role this would be her first. Also, she said that she and Victoria met when they were younger; further saying that her mom Dina Lohan and Victoria are good friends.

Lohan said that she also respects the strong woman that Victoria is. She even pointed out how similar her family and the Gottis are.

This movie could be a very good break from the felony grand theft the actress is facing at the moment. Sources say that Lohan is required to appear before the Los Angeles court on April 22.
